Community Tree Plant – Cambridge

Play a part in “greening” your local community by joining Forests OntarioGrand River Conservation Authority, and TD Friends of the Environment Foundation on Saturday, May 6th for the 9th Annual Community Planting Weekend. This half-day planting event takes place in a public space and brings together families, friends and community members for a chance to contribute to a meaningful project that offers vast environmental benefits for all Ontarians! Participation helps build awareness around the importance of trees, which clean our air, improve water supplies, foster wildlife habitat, contribute to human health and provide a buffer against the effects of climate change.

What to Bring: To participate in this family-friendly event, please dress for the weather and bring lots of energy!

What We Will Bring: We will supply the rest – the trees, forestry specialists, mulch and snacks.

Parking:  Limited parking will be available at entrance off Snyders Flats Road.

Space is limited and pre-registration is appreciated.

    • Students for Sustainability at WLU - community tree planting

      Get involved! Get to know your neighbourhood park, meet new people and help make Waterloo a greener community by planting a tree.

      Wear closed-toe footwear and appropriate clothing for natural area conditions.  All hand tools, gloves and refreshments provided by the City of Waterloo.  Youth under 18 years must be supervised by an adult parent or guardian.

    • North Hill Park Tree Planting

      Community Volunteers are welcomed to join BDHS members in hand planting 200 native mixed variety potted trees & shrubs in Bolton’s North Hill Park, behind the Caledon Centre on Highway 50 south of Columbia Way.  Tools and gloves will be provided.  Please wear appropriate shoe or boots – the ground may be muddy.

    • Fall Community Tree Planting

      October 21

      Leave a legacy in your community by participating in Ontario’s Green Leaf Challenge. The province of Ontario aims to plant 3 million trees as part of the Canada 150 celebration. We are seeking volunteers to help plant 700 trees in Imagination Park in partnership with our friends from Forests Ontario.

      Trees, shovels, and gloves and refreshments will be provided. This event is even eligible for high school volunteer hours.

      Ajax’s community tree planting events are suitable for all ages and will take place rain or shine.
