ReLeaf Selwyn 150
In celebration of Canada’s 150th Anniversary, the Township of Selwyn is proud to announce the ReLeaf Selwyn 150 Program. In partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough (CFGP), Selwyn Township residents can apply to receive one of the 150 Maple Trees available.
Applications must be received by May 12, 2017. Only Township of Selwyn residents or community groups may apply and all maple trees must be properly planted within 5 metres of the public boulevard on private property or on public lands (Township permission required).
Both Sugar Maples and Red Maple Trees are available. Trees will be between six to eight feet tall and must be planted within 2 days of receiving the tree. Planting instructions and assistance will be provided to all successful applicants.
If more than 150 compliant applications are received, Township staff will determine successful applicants based on need, location, proximity to other trees, number of trees awarded to each ward. Special consideration will be given to areas affected by the Emerald Ash Borer.
